Hey devers!! Out there, what are your thoughts on transition into any of the specialization like front end engineer or backend engineer after having some good years of experience as FullStack engineer??
What were your hurdles in selection of a specific role and what helped you into landing into that role??
Currently I'm trying to transition myself from FullStack JS engineer to a backend engineer but the Job hunt had me feel I'm lacking in many ways.π
Please do share your two cents...would be really helpful to figure out the grey areas

Have you explored the option of transitioning to the new role within your current company? If you have a full-stack role I assume you are already doing backend work. Talk to your manager about focusing more on that area. If the company is big enough, switching teams might be a good idea, since the new team wouldn't be used to relying on you for frontend work.
Thank for your suggestions, as the company I work for is a early stage startup unfortunately we don't have much opportunities out there, that's why looking for new opportunities.
Being from JS stack, I do see Java influencing predominant of backend engineering in many firms, so my question is like how was the interview process for JS engineers who have backend experience in Node.js but not in Java
