Let's get this straight on. Me personally I think you should learn C/C++ because they are a foundation of every computer out there and mastering them can really benefit you. So, you have decided to learn one of these languages. But which one? There isn't a right answer. It's just the matter if you are going to dedicate your time to learning one of these languages. But I will recommend you to learn C first because it's much easier to switch from C to C++ than from C++ to C.
If you are struggling to make a decision, I'll tell you to just GO AHEAD AND LEARN C/C++!

I agree! I also think most people nowadays, especially those who work with JS, will highly benefit from learning Scheme.
