At Adadot we analysed data in 38,000 developer datasets from GitLab, GitHub, and Google Calendar.
In our sample, which is comprised of mostly early stage startups, we identified that managers are working an average of 16 hours per month outside of normal working hours.
This is ten times longer 😱 than developers in
their teams.
They are also sending messages and continuing to communicate
for almost ten extra hours per month 🔥 .
This is ten times more than juniors in their teams, again. 😩
Why do they burn the midnight oil? In early stage startups managers are more likely to own a piece of the pie in the form of stock options.
Next time someone says its not worth it giving out equity to employees you can show them this.
