Compared to discussion forums, Q&A Community offers a platform where users can ask questions and get answers without being distracted, which is much more efficient. Providing answers directly instead of lengthy discussions and chit-chats is also more beneficial for the retrieval and accumulation of knowledge. In addition, users can collaboratively edit questions and answers to help improve the posts and work together to build a library of detailed, high-quality answers to every question. In that way, knowledge can be constantly updated and the information will be current and trustworthy.
Many companies are building their Q&A communities to be more competitive. Q&A knowledge-based communities can help companies in various areas, including, but not limited to, the followings.
- Knowledge Sharing: Q&A Communities empower your experts to share insights and best practices. They are happy to contribute, verify, and upvote for correct info. Your info keeping up-to-date and trusted.
- Customer Support: Q&A Communities give customers a place to share feedback on products and services with the company and their peers. Users help each other in the community. And through a practical self-service support experience, customer retention and loyalty can be increased.
- Accelerate Innovation: Q&A communities can help companies get first-hand user feedback and use it to drive product iteration and innovation which contribute to business growth.
- Establishing Trust: In the Q&A community, staff can communicate with customers on an equal footing and share their knowledge and experience, which helps to establish a level of transparency and trust between the company and its customers.
- Build a Community: The Q&A Community is also a Hub to help you connect your customers, users, and upstream and downstream partners and develop a win-win ecosystem.

Yep, you can simply think of it as the open-source alternative of Quora, Stack overflow, and other Q&A communities.
I use it. It's a good start, but it needs more to be the best community software.
Thanks Torsten! We'll keep moving on to achieve the best.
