almost every dev i know has a game they play on their mobile daily, i'm looking for new games so i want to know what you're currently playing.
to make things more organized, mention the name of the game and the platform(OS) you're currently playing it on.
i'm currently playing ENYO (android) and monument valley 2 (android).

I actually play on my Nintendo 3DS, I’m loving a very simple classic rpg called Adventure Bar Story.
On my phone I have minesweeper and mahjong. It’s on iOS, though that’s not very relevant. I like old / classic games, hehe
I’ve been forever looking for a way to play a decent version of classic Dr Mario and Tetris, but I think I’ll have to build those myself. The Tetris available for iOS is just so bloated with lasers I can’t.
i have a vita that i really should use more often but can't due to a charging problem. i never really had a nintendo product, had to play Zelda via an emulator..... fun times. have you played chrono trigger? had a friend with a nintendo and this game was all we played.
how does one play minesweeper? i kept clicking the bombs and there was no way to tell which square was safe to click, or is there?
I haven't played chrono trigger, will look into it!
The rules of minesweeper are actually pretty simple. After the first click, which is basically a shot in the dark, normally you get an area cleared out, surrounded by numbers. Each cleared cell without any numbers on it means "I have no bombs around me". A cleared cell with a 1 on it means "I have one bomb around me". A cleared cell with a 2 on it says "I have two bombs around me".
Now, isolate a cell with a number 1, and consider the cells around it — the top, right, bottom, left, and the 4 nearest diagonals. You get an imaginary 3*3 box around the cell you picked. In one of these 8 cells, there is a bomb. You can go about it randomly (not recommended) or you can logic your way through it, combining similar 3*3 boxes of 9 cells.
Similarly, if you have a 3*3 box where the center still isn't cleared, but the 8 cells in the sides have a number 1 on them, it means that the center has a bomb. Right-click or long-tap on it to add a flag.
The whole game is about applying this logic to the cleared cells. If you can't figure one out, (is the bomb here, or here?) then move on to the next numbered cell and figure out the pattern.
The best advice I can give is to download a version (there are hundreds, some good and some bad) and start playing! Thinking of numbered cells as telling you "I have X bombs around me" will get you pretty far. Then, there are some other techniques to figure out tough spots. But the best part of the game is figuring that out, applying the logic and finding the patterns.
I have Minesweeper Deluxe on my mac, and Minesweeper Classic 2 – Bomb on iPhone, both free. They are just the closest to the original I could find.
Good luck, I highly recommend the game :D
wow, did not know the game could be played like that, hopefully i can break some minesweeper highscores!
chrono trigger is a-awesome!
I play love nikki ouo
It's an rpg about clothes. There's mystery, death, wars and all of this done in the most beautiful outfit you can muster up. You get used to the broken English pretty fast. At first I felt suuuper embarrassed of playing this game because the premise sounded kinda dumb, but now I really enjoy it!
I also like merge meadow and candies and curses, they're both quite fun!!
All of this is in Android c:
awesome! i was beginning to think my definition of devs was a bit askew
candies and curses looks like fun, will defo try out.
Super Mario Run (iOS) helps pass some idle time. Death Coming (iOS) and Pico Tanks (iOS) as well.
my roommate loves Super Mario Run, plays it everyday and the music kinda grows on you. Death Coming feels pretty solid based on what i saw on the playstore. not so sure about pico tanks.
do these games (Death coming and Pico tanks) play offline or require data connection?
Yeah, the music in Mario Run is great and just in general as a Mario fan - it's fun to just play a couple of levels and get back to work.
Death Coming doesn't require a data connection, I've played it in airplane mode before. Pico Tanks is online multiplayer so it does - although I just realized that Pico Tanks is still in beta so not entirely available yet.
One of the mobile games I enjoy is Mahjong Solitaire, which I came across on A Clockwork Brain. It’s a classic game where you match tiles, and I find it both relaxing and engaging. The interface is straightforward, and there are different levels of difficulty, so it works well for casual play or more challenging sessions on aclockworkbrain.com/mahjong-solitaire here. It’s been a good way for me to relax while also keeping my mind sharp. Plus, the game has options for customizing backgrounds and tile designs, which adds a nice personal touch. Overall, if you like puzzle games or just need a quick mental exercise, it’s a great option.
Idle Heroes - iOS also avail on Android... But no cross platform plays.
i'm already downloading this, is it fun when playing offline?
The game does require a data connection. I've been playing free 2 play 6 months ago. I play everyday and enjoy it
awesome thanks!
