Stop Manually Coding UI Components! πŸ”ΌβŒ

I've never used a tool more powerful than this ever before.

It took me less than 2 minutes to generate:

βœ… SaaS Dashboard UI
βœ… Checkout section for an e-commerce site
βœ… and literally anything else

You can even modify parts of the code!

Wanna take a look into what it is?

Before that, take a look at these:

About This Awesome Tool πŸ‘‡

v0 is a generative user interface system by Vercel Labs powered by AI.

It generates copy-and-paste friendly React code based on shadcn/ui and Tailwind CSS that people can use in their projects.

It also supports "Screenshot to Code" which makes it even more powerful.

Here’s how it works:

1️⃣ Describe the interface you want to build
2️⃣ v0 produces code using open-source tools like React, Tailwind CSS, and Shadcn UI
3️⃣ Select an iteration and keep editing in v0
4️⃣ When you're ready, copy and paste that code into your app and develop from there

v0's Powers πŸ”₯

Imagine you want to create a new website, but you don’t have any experience with coding.

With v0, you can describe the user interface you want in plain text, and v0 will generate the necessary React code.

For example, you could say:

A landing page hero section with a heading, leading text and an opt-in form.

Here's what it will give you:

For the source code of the component: click the "Code" button

You can also prompt it to modify some parts of the component with this text box

I asked it to "add a gradient to the background with a slight blur" and here's what it gave me:

Final Thoughts πŸ™Œ

Again, the classic question arises: Will this be the end of frontend developers?

According to me, til the foreseeable future, No.

But yes, it will make UI development a bit too easy.

Tried it and it's not useful in the slightest. I'm not a hobby developer. I write code for a living for clients. They provide designs. I uploaded an example design and the output wasn't just slightly off, it wasn't even in the ballpark. It would be both slower and more expensive to build using v0 today. Until the math works out the other way (and significantly so), these sorts of "products" just amount to empty hype.
