5 YouTube Channels To Help You Learn Programming

It took me a while looking for good educators on YouTube to teach me programming before I settled on a few.

Today we are experiencing a high number of self taught developers and getting resources might prove to be a hard task to some of us. In this article I picked five youtube channels which I believe can help you achieve your goals easily. Note these are my personal opinions and if you feel like one or two are not supposed to be in this list, or you have a channel that has helped you grow, feel free to leave a comment. I've been following this channels since I started my programming journey and thanks to them I got to where I am today. I have not arranged them in any specific order.

So let's get started.

freecodeCamp.org (2.02M Subscribers)

FreeCodeCamp.org is an open source community of busy people who learn to code to build projects for non-profits. It is an awesome channel that you can get absolutely anything you want in relation to programming. They also have an awesome site that has interactive learning that you can also use alongside their YouTube videos. All this makes freeCodeCamp to be a one stop place if you are looking to learn anything on programming.

Traversy Media (1.12M Subscribers)

Brad Traversy is a web developer who has turned into being among the greatest educators on youtube. His content varies from web development to other programming languages. He has tutorials on python, django, deno, laravel, JavaScript, React.js, Angular, PHP among others. If you are looking to start your journey into web development then Traversy Media is the place you should start from.

Programming with Mosh (1.08M Subscribers)



This is another channel with rich content in relation to programming. Mosh who recently moved into education full time has the best tutorials you can find useful as a beginner or even an expert trying to learn something new. In the channel you can find Python, C#, JavaScript, Java among other programming languages. Check the channel out and you'll be impressed with what Mosh has to offer.

edureka! (1.76M Subscribers)

Edureka is a live and interactive e-learning platform with an aim of making learning accesible to everyone. They have a 24/7 support which makes learning easy. The channel has a bunch of programming tutorials ranging from devOps, Python, Django among other tutorials. If you are looking for a place to start then this channel has you covered.

Derek Banas (1.05M Subscribers)

Derek Banas is another great educator. He's devoted to fullfilling the requests of the users and makes tutorials based on the requests made by the learners or viewers. With his tutorials ranging from JavaScript, Swift, Objective-C, C++ among others, the channel is definitely worth checking.

You might also want to check New Boston which has over 2.44M Subscribers, I didn't have in my 5 channels because the last tutorial was posted 3 years ago so it's not that much updated but it has good content too.
