WTFDuino

Many moons ago (2015 to be exact) , myself and a colleague, at Middlesex University were discussing the merits of Arduino programming.

And then an idea was born. Not a good idea, but an idea non-the-less.

What if you made an arduino that was not good?

WTFDuino was the realisation of that dream

Design

I designed a PCB in an afternoon. Paid for a couple of prototypes in yellow, and voilá... my work was done...

Banana

Market

The next thing to do was market it.... So a couple of silly evenings with a video camera later....

And suddenly it started to pick up a little press.

And even a small mention on hackaday!

Sell?

So was it a roaring commercial success?

No... I never sold it. Instead a guy in china copied it and released the gerber files for free on github. I wasnt even cross.... I had an error in one of my traces, and he fixed it....

Is there a moral to this story? No.. It is just a reminder that I can design a PCB in the shape of a friut if I want
