Hello and welcome!
In JavaScript, there are plenty of ways to manipulate strings, but reversing one is a classic problem every developer encounters! Let's consider how to do it using two cool methods.๐
Method 1: The Classic .reverse()
Method.
This is the go-to approach for most devs. It's simple and efficient!
const string = "Hello, World!";
let reversedString = string.split("").reverse().join("");
console.log(reversedString); // "!dlroW ,olleH"
How it works:
- We split the string into an array of characters using
.split("")
. - Then we use
.reverse()
to reverse the order of the characters. - Finally, we use
.join("")
to return the characters to a string.
Easy, right? But thereโs more! ๐
Method 2: The .reduceRight()
Method.
