I like listening to relatively heavy and rhythmically complex music. It creates sort of a wall between me and all the things and thoughts that can distract me from writing code. Usually it is math metal, metalcore or, for example, AI-generated djent: youtu.be/CqvmUnG25dA

I almost always listen to music while coding and I also tend to like instrumental stuff. Lately I've been listening to:

State Azure - perfect programming music for me
Progressive Trance music generally, when I need slightly more energy.
Nier Automata OST some days I just listen to it on loop, minus a few slightly annoying tracks :) it hits a lot of the right spots for me in the right order.

Today is a good day to Code what with the bloody rain and the bloody wind.
Extra points for knowing the Movie Quote I subverted there.
So it's Soft Guitar music off of Amazon Music.
Got a new kitten and he likes the bass from the subwoofer.
The older girls are protesting by staying outside!
The new kitten is objectionable to their sensibilities.

I'm currently going through a SE bootcamp, so I have a relatively short experience to pull from haha. So far I love listening to lofi reggaeton/hip hop beats, but tbh any chill music does the trick! Otherwise, I just start singing along and no work gets done lol.

I'll for sure be checking out those recommendations!

Many developers enjoy listening to music while coding as it can help them to focus and stay motivated. The type of music people listen to can vary depending on personal preferences, but instrumental music, such as classical or electronic music, is often preferred as it is less distracting than music with lyrics. zeeto.pk/daihatsu-boon-price-in-pa...

An interesting thought:
I understand Music stimulates the brain and helps the brain develop mathematics abilities.

From the great god Google search
What Einstein said about music?

"Life without playing music is inconceivable for me," he declared. "I live my daydreams in music. I see my life in terms of music ... I get most joy in life out of music."

Oh man I love these "whacha-doing" threads.

Plug: With Amazon Music it's whatever..
But last night it was Zen Music for Coding.
Yeah they have a category of music of "for Coding."

I guess right this moment it's Bob Dylan and "Everybody must get stoned."
I have always loved that song!
It's okay I'm old enough.
:)

A close second has been quiet piano music for Study and Coding.

I actually don't listen to music whiles coding. I haven't tried it though but I do think the music will distract me a tiny bit from the problem I'm trying to solve😂

Depends on how close the deadline is -- if I'm scrambling, angry, high-beat music. If I'm in the flow and have time, slower, calmer stuff. Almost always instrumental/no lyrics.
