For me personnally there is no contradiction whatsoever between being authentic and professionnal.
And more generally I don't follow the common advice to separate personal and professional life.
The reason for that is pretty simple :
I'm not two persons with two separate lives, as cool as it sounds, I am one single integrated human being.
This is not an injonction for everyone to do the same. Obviously if you work with toxic people, please separate that from your personal life as strongly as posssible. But ideally if you have the choice, you want to leave that kind of atmosphere and join a saner, more democratic workplace with a culture of psychological safety.
