I always liked movie soundtracks for no-lyrics songs to listen to when coding. Some of my favourites are:

  • The Lord of the Rings soundtracks (all three movies)
  • Gladiator
  • Atonement
  • Star Trek 6
  • Anything by John Williams

I love those too! Sometimes I can't do John Williams because I get too into his melodies, and sing along to Moosebutter's John Williams is the Man in my head. I haven't listened to Gladiator in forever, and I am adding it to my list now!

I will leave my own bit:
For me best works instrumental stuff... i am with love to music from Kai Engel. Two tracks are not same and it is relaxing for me.

My other picks are:

  • Fountain OST - ok it is depresing, but beautifull
  • Pacific Rim OST - marching-epic
  • Oblivion OST - spacely epic
  • Edge Of tomorrow OST - alienly epic
  • House of Cards OST - classical instruments, good even for sleeping
  • Assasins's Creed 3 OST - quick, it will literally speed you up :)
  • Audiomachine - EPIC, every trailer ever

I lately been hearing videogame soundtracks. And some mixes in youtube like "the legend of zelda calm music"-like videos. They work extremelly good for me :)

Other thing that I also hear when I want no lyrics musics, is just go to classic music, mostly piano.

Or mix both by basically hearing piano covers of videogames but there you can hear all the piano covers of any song :) #ProTrick (?

Piano covers of videogame music is something I am going to look up now! That sounds awesome, I do like classical but sometimes I find it doesn't have enough going on in it to cover up other noise.

I also need music with good flow, but not TOO interesting to gain my attention. Anything with guitars will tug at my attention! A few random recommendations available on Spotify:

  • Simon Boswell - Burncycle Soundtrack
  • Georgi Simeonov - Conan the Barbarian Soundtrack
  • Any piano composition album by TPR
  • Ambassadors of Funk - Super Mario Compact Disco

Thanks for the suggestions, I feel like I might need to do a playlist on Spotify trying out all of these :)

I also have a long form spotify playlist with the full albums of all the suggestions Longform No-Lyrics. A co-worker also suggested the Deus Ex soundtrack, and I really have been enjoying it.

Electronic is the best fit for me :) My likes on Deezer

Is just like Spotify, but with a larger library.
And I prefer the Deezer recommendation algorithm than Spotify ones...
