From Fun to Frustration: A Lone Wolf in the Open Source World

Hello Punk! I am darkterminal a Software Freestyle Engineer.

Someone who has forgotten how to sleep.

A Day after Having Fun

After dancing with Whatsback Web for almost three weeks, I’ve finally poured out every distraction in my mind. I feel relieved—and even more handsome and charming!

As an S.F.E, I’m incredibly proud to be part of the Open Source community and this digital-ephemeral world. After all, expression and innovation should always be channeled and released in the right place.

Back To Open Source Work

“Work”? Sure, let’s call it that—even though “work” usually comes with some kind of financial reward. But in all the chaos I’ve stirred up in this digital world, I haven’t gotten much support, let alone compensation. Sometimes, I wonder—can someone like me, a troublemaker, ever really find a place in this fleeting online existence?

At the end of the day, I’ve realized that nothing is impossible in this ever-changing digital space. Hard work and a bit of madness always seem to bring some kind of response from the universe. Maybe it just hasn’t happened for me yet. Or maybe I’m just too unconventional—so much so that I come off as weird or even completely out of place. Who knows?

What I've Done Before?

If you visit my GitHub profile, you’ll probably feel a bit weirded out and think to yourself, “What kind of crazy person is this?” And you’d be right! What kind of crazy person am I? That’s something I hear all the time from people around me. But that’s okay—this is the path I’ve chosen. What most people don’t realize, though, is that deep down, I’m lonely and could really use some support.

In my non-technical life, I’m doing just fine. But in the Open Source world, I’m a lone wolf. Why? Just take a look at my projects—you’ll see how solitary this journey has been. I’m not looking for pity. What I dream of is collaboration—a little toxic, a little fun, just mischievous enough to talk about silly, pointless things in this fleeting digital world.

Let's talk!
