Oh? We are late 😆
Haha, oops! We originally planned to release this yesterday but pushed it to today. Thanks for the catch.
And here it is! I found a bug in the matrix 😆
This is a great start! 😂👾
Hi Christina. I appreciate your support and fast response to everyone filing an issue to Forem. If you don't mind a suggestion, can you, or any team member who has the right to label issues, always add tech label to new bug issues?
I don't know Ruby, and with so many bugs we have on hand (174 at the time of writing), sometimes it's not clear if a bug is for frontend or backend.
Thanks so much for the suggestion. We have some newer bugs I can't properly add the tech label to yet as we have not figured out whether they are related to frontend, backend, etc. but we certainly have some older bugs I can go through a label. I will work on adding the appropriate tech label to bugs over the next few weeks 😄
I'm happy to answer any questions you all have and guide you along the way. Excited to see all the bugs we can smash this month. 👾
Hi Christina! I had some issues getting the containers running and was only able to fix my assigned bug today. The PR is still being reviewed.
Am I still eligible for the rewards if the PR gets merged after today?
Yes, I am keeping an eye on the PRs that are in review. Even if it wasn't merged today I'll make sure you get it. Make sure you fill out the post too and thanks so much for contributing!

No problem! This is a fun event to participate in 😁
I already have a completed draft, but I was waiting for the PR to go through before publishing. Should I just publish it now?
Either way! You can wait until the PR goes through if you prefer 😄
Props to anyone who came up with an idea for this 💯👍
Thanks 😊
So awesome. #TakeSpidersOutside indeed, but let's get those repo bugs smashed 🎉 😂
I think I found a bug, but checking the forem's source code, it looks like it's something in the database values and not in the code itself. Would that count?
Is it a bug we have open in our repo already? we are trying to keep it to the ones we have labelled
bug smash
for now. But if it is one we have in the repo I can take a look.It was not in the repo (or at least I didn't find it), so I created a new bug. It is more of an edge case, but it may be interesting from a design point of view.
If you want to look at open bug smash issues with no one assigned you can follow this link.

can i become forem github public member if i fix one of this bug?
Hey! I am not sure what you mean? You will be a contributor on the Forem repo. Are you wondering about something else?
yeah i meant forem has a github group right? how can i be a member ? because i have contribute to repo called appwrite before and they had a github group and i've been invited to join their group but im just a member which mean i can't see their private repo only public which is really cool because im part of that community now, so is forem has that kind of invite? like when somebody contribute to a repo they will get invited as a public member of forem github organization
You won't become a member of the organization but you will appear on the contributors list.
Only people that work for Forem are added as full members 😊
i see thanks for the info
Awesome!
Small typo here:
Excited to see if I can contribute to this amazing platform.
A quick note, the Contributing to forem link is broken

Oh nice
Many of them have already a solution.
Some have suggestions in the issue but if they are still open they do not have a PR in yet. Some have been assigned and people are working on solutions. Did you see any you were interested in? I will likely be adding a few more bugs today to the bug smash list as we have had a pretty good response so you can also check back later today to see if there are any you would like to work on.
