I'm old, I've been developing professionally for a while but never got involved in the open source community. I think I'd like to finally get involved and just get a pulse on the community. I'm mostly Java/Javascript but I'd like to get back into game development like I was back in college. What do most of y'all use for 2D or small scale games if anyone here is into that?
There are more options for smaller games than larger, 3D games, like godot and cocos are very popular, but nowadays, more creative developers aren't even bound to use game engines, such as just hand rubbing threejs, haha
Yea I think the last time I did any game development, Microsoft XNA Framework was still being supported, but yea you gotta be a particular type of dev to be using javascript to code games lol
Great to have you!
Hello hello!
Yo, what's up? I'm Ankit. I'm in the process of learning Java, DSA, and the MERN stack, along with CS fundamentals and other cool things related to development. I joined this community to dive deeper into the dev community. Hope you all are having a good time!
"Nice, bro! Keep learning and exploring. One recommendation is to avoid trying to do too many things at once. Focus on one thing, complete it, and then move on to the next. Just a suggestion; maybe it will work for you!"
Btw I am also doing java
Hey, thanks buddy. Btw I'm learning Java from Andrii Piatakha(Udemy), how about you? and any suggestions regarding java? I've started this monday only.
Iām following Timās Java course on Udemy, and itās also part of my curriculum. Java is a vast subject, so I recommend taking notes. I suggest using a tool like Notion to create a digital notebook for organizing everything. And of course, the importance of practice canāt be overstated. Practice, practice, and practice some more ā youāll eventually start connecting the dots.
Feel free to reach out if you need anything. I might learn something from you as well.
Happy upskilling ā¤ļø
that was so sweet of you. surely, when i'd learn enough will discuss things with you.
till then, happy coding :)

At first programming was fun to me. Then took a learning track. After that start professional work. The journey was from MS DOS. Starts with dBASE III Plus / FoxPro finally VB.net and C#. FoxPro to MS SQL Server and Oracle. A huge learning, practicing and working path. We are in track of never ending of learning.

Hi all, I'm Rick. I'm between jobs and looking for ways to improve my skills. I figured that to stay on top of trends, I'd join here to immerse myself with other programmers/coders who also want to stay on the pulse of our ever-changing tech world.
Hello, I am Saami from India. I am currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in computer science and learning full-stack Java, but I plan to eventually dive into Spring Boot. I am passionate about technology and have previous experience working with Python and its libraries (Selenium, Pandas, Tk, beautiful soup etc.). I left that path midway (cause of something) and am now focusing on Java, hoping to excel in it!
