My win this week...

  • Nearly finished moving all my DevOps from a vendor service* to a self managed ansible setup.
  • Got a nifty new (to me) home server machine spun up and hosting some of my home-network and home-lab services. Added as a new node in a Proxmox cluster!
  • Almost finished (should be done later this morning) moving VM services off my old ESXi host to newer (see above) Proxmox cluster. Retiring the ESXi is a goal, will re-condition the hardware as it is long overdue for a dry-dock overhaul. It will be re-christened within the Proxmox cluster.

  • Played a new game with an old friend, who knew managing a fantasy tavern would be so enjoyable! (it's on sale on steam right now if you're interested: Ale & Tale Tavern

* the service's 'free' tier is going paid only in (checks watch) 2 days correction: 1 month.

Update: A few hours later than expected due to spending family time, but ESXi is shutting down as I type :D

I'm very pleased to have restarted a daily meditation practice. On the work front, I've continued to find small opportunities to contribute a bit of code here and there, which feels really nice! @peter and I also optimized a workflow related to dev++ that's clearly already paying off :)

  • Good.
  • I had old twitter's profile. Some useless curious visited and reported what I was saying on it. I was busier of this uncivilian misattitude that I decided to shut down that account. 😒 When people come in social medias, it's for exchanging valid viewpoints. Not for something else. Therefore, I ensure transfering tweets and recordings to new created one account. 😊 It was huge task. I have almost finished. This one twitter's account will be less public. People won't turn around this latter again. 😂
  • Also, that's why I appreciate this platform. Conversations remain most of time professional. Keep growing platform, please.

I just finished my final entry into the Peasy-UI series!

Part 5 of Peasy-UI series

Peasy-UI is a small but powerful UI binding library!

This is my first series that I've authored on dev.to.... super excited!

Now I can fall back to gamedev articles :)

i start using my phone as Bluetooth keyboard for my tablet. This combo result is a mobile dev machine. Related app: virtual button, temux, vim. Extra hardwer is IKEA wood phone/tablet holder. (don't throw your old phone maybe can live longer as keyboard)

  • Started mentoring some learners after putting it off for a long time due to feeling inadequate. Already received some extremely positive feedback. I loved helping and plan to do more of it. I really needed this at the end of a not-so-great week.
