Congrats!
congrats
I really loved your site. Great work.
Looking good!
I changed the way I plan out my week and it made for a very productive and sustainable week for me.
It's just one week, if my system really keeps working well I'll definitely make a #productivity post about it.
I think sharing your #productivity post is a good idea. It could be very enlightening and inspiring to others.
I actually opened up my laptop this week several times. Sounds dumb but I've been in a slump.
reached 500+ video subscribers at youtube after a year of work. Slow but very happy with it. here is my channel if interested - youtube.com/channel/UCFIwa5Eqf4kN1...
Just subscribed! keep up the good work!
thank you so much! you just made my day
I'd love to connect with you on linkedin or other social media platforms

I learned about the importance of network in my career. As a junior developer, people at my age might overlook the importance of personal branding and network in their career. This past week was a really deep journey for me to understand the importance of these factors and that's actually the reason I joined this community looking for mentorship and interaction with brilliant people
Recently I came to realize that Jotto 2020, a game which I created 14 months ago for a software hackathon contest, had the potential to become a world-wide pop culture phenomenon.
As a contest submission, the game finished poorly in the standings. As a form of leisure, the game was received well by "word-nerds" like myself, but it never really captured the imagination of anyone. Pride was not something I was feeling then.
Today in 2022, I can look back to that time with a semblance of pride. Perhaps my creation was not merely a quaint, esoteric little puzzle game. Perhaps it was actually something special after all.
@tonedef71 you should definitely feel proud. You were very creative and followed through with many aspects of this game. It sure was not merely a quaint, esoteric little puzzle game. With the latest (Jan 31, 2022) NYTimes story of them acquiring Wordle, you should continue with your creative efforts. Good luck!
I posted a small article (Lost in comfort zone) on LinkedIn this week. It is about how I faced the struggle of comfort zone. I'm happy I wrote this.
Good article. I could relate.
Thank you. I hope things go well for you. One good thing was, at the end I felt happy because the things I have acheived were more than I expected.
I built a whatsapp chatbot with python for sending my friends the link to join online classes based on what day it is.
My win this week is that I returned!
I got hired last october and I've been far from my usual dev communities (github, dev.to, stackoverflow) because I didn't have much time... But now I'm slowly picking them up again. I think it will pass some time until I write a post again, but at least I answered some issues and PRs in Candle, started answering again in SO and commenting here.
I don't want my job to take all my dev energy, so this makes me happy :)
I got Phoenix, Nuxt.js, Postgres and Caddy all running in containers and talking to each other. I applied for a job that built their apps on Phoenix and Nuxt, so I wanted to try playing with them. I didn't get the job, but I had never used Elixir, Phoenix or Nuxt before, so I consider that a win!
Completing my first session of CISSP exam prep.
Awesome stuff!
Thank you!
Built a P2P multi-party video chat application from first principles using websockets and vanilla Javascript (approx 300 lines of node + 500 lines of JS in frontend )
Was able to convince a few people at work to use it as a replacement for Google Meet. Still needs a lot of work to be usable across all browsers and mobile devices.
Absolutely. For me this week had some similar wins because I really made it clear to myself what I needed to get done, and then when I got it done ahead of schedule, I was able to take a breather. Without making it clear what I was even really trying to do, it's hard to feel like you can take a breather.
Found out how to pass env variables to react (spent a long time trying to resolve this and guess what you just have to prefix them with REACT_APP_ to show up). Plus worked out how to host stuff on Okteto via a docker-compose.yml
Not the best portfolio out there but yes I tried to make some vital commits this week.

Cheers on the updates ! It's quite animated but I can see the direction you're going for. Your blog article on shit coding gave me a good laugh π
My 2 cents is that you should look into connecting a domain name and submitting it on Google ! Get that SEO juice π§
Nice...you havenβt learnt JavaScript yet I guess?
No I've learnt it, how would I work on react without JS. By the way, Why would you think that though, did I made a mistake.
Sounds like a pretty darn good week
I just started a project. For those Linux nerds out there (like me), I use Arch, btw. The Arch User Repository (AUR) is a place where Arch Linux users can get packages that aren't on the package manager or other places i.e Spotify. At the moment, the best tool to get these packages (in my opinion) is Yay, but it is a heavy project written in Go. It is quite slow. So I am making my own Yay, but in shell script (bash).
Introducing... raurt!
Random Arch User Repository Tool
The project is being hosted on GitLab, but I haven't made any changes or even properly started it yet. Stay tuned to see what I do with it!
