Yesterday, I came across this product (I think on producthunt, but i honestly don't remember)
It's really really good - combines all the important stuff in one tab - trending Github, Dev.to feed, hackernews, product hunt, and (you can turn on) reddit, events, etc.
I personally don't use it as my new tab page, but I have a shortcut to https://now.hackertab.dev and always go there now (instead of dev.to for reading)
You can configure stuff too
