My “CSS Flexbox Cheatsheet” VS Code extension is slowly reaching 20k installs! I celebrated the 10k install just four months ago. That is absolutely incredible! I’ve never imagined one of my extensions will appeal to so many people. Thanks to every one of them who’s tried it. ❤
Now with this new milestone just around the corner, I’m asking myself what is next? How can I make the extension even better and more useful?
I have a couple of ideas. One is to make the cheatsheet view more interactive. Instead of static images for each value, there can be buttons that will apply the selected value to a set of boxes and you’ll be able to see how it affects them.
Another idea is to redesign the current images. There’s nothing wrong with them, but they can probably be made easier to understand.
A third idea is to include links to different demos like how to center an item both horizontally and vertically, how to make a top bar that contains a logo and a menu aligned to the right, etc.
What do you think about these ideas? Do you have other ideas/suggestions for improvements? If you’ve used the extension, have you had a moment where you thought something could be made better?
Would love you read your comments below.

Hey man!
I really like your third idea and look forward to it!
The navbar is something that every 2 out of 3 web apps have it. Making a cheatsheet for it would really help a lot.
Also, amazing stuff man!!
Thanks!
Honestly haven't seen the extension before but if you could get it to a similar level of interactivity like yoksel.github.io/flex-cheatsheet/#... then it might be worth an install for me personally. Interactivity sure is easier to distinguish compared to static images
Thanks for your honest comment. I'm inclining towards adding some interactivity. Will definitely try and see how it works.
Hello, Mr. Dzhavat, I read your interesting column. I think if your extension is a hit then you could redesign only the images because it's the heart of your extension. Now, the other ideas are excellent but you can grab them and create a "Flexbox School" with your demos, tutorials, and create an interactive cheatsheet.
Thank You for you time.
I'm sorry, my English is not very good looking.
Regards from Colombia.
Hey Harrinson,
Thanks for your comment. Interesting perspective. Will definitely think about it :)
