Three tips to deal with boring developer job.

It's your first day join your dream startup company, you feel exited, you wondering what kind of task that you will do, It's your dream come true to be part of startup that change the world and maybe the next chat GPT kind of company.

Fast forward three years later, did you feel as exited as your first day of work? If your answer is solid Yes, congratulation you really lucky to have a dream job, but most of us don't.

You bored with your day to day job, because your sprint project has done and your JIRA task is nothing more than some small changes, micro bugfix or maybe just fixing some typos and changing config files or add some event tracking.

The fact that developer most likely will encounter some low-level task is unavoidable, that why we need to maintain our performance event during those days, here some tips to handle boring job

Tips 1

Actually you still able to do some improvement, if you're not writing unit testing when you do your task, do it even tough no one ask you for it, if no one create documentation then do it, it will improve your value as developer and also give you more understanding about your product.

Tips 2

You fill boring because you doing similar type of job over and over again, ask your manager to switch project with higher difficult task or doing something that you never done before, such as working on SEO improvement or create email template.

Tips 3

If none of those above tips is worked, try to do some small project, ask your manager to do small project for your company that hasn't provided such as HR management tools, attendance log report, snack machine management system, pingpong booking system, etc.

We cannot control our job, our manager, our boss but we can control ourself.
