Landing Page development in 2019/2020

A landing page is a standalone web page, created specifically for the purposes of a marketing or advertising campaign. It’s where a visitor β€œlands” when they have clicked on a Google AdWords ad or similar. Unbounce

With services such as Wix and Unbounce propping up, I wanted to ask the Dev community what it thought about Landing Page development in 2019/2020.

Are developers still using WordPress or other CMSs to create landing pages? Or have people adopted using static-site-generators for such content? Could it be that people are abandoning these methods altogether in favor of site builders like Wix or Unbounce?

If people are still using WordPress or other content management systems to spin up landing pages, are there tools you may have found or built to assist you in development?

Any information on the topic is greatly appreciated.

I personally prefer static site generators, either Gatsbyjs or Hugo, for portability of the result (I hope this makes sense, I mean, I would like to host the final files anywhere and move them fast if needed without having to install anything beforehand). Also because if I were to choose WordPress, it would take me too long to style if not using a pagebuilder.

I know a few people who use Divi builder for WordPress though, all landing pages look almost the same anyway :)

I personally like static page generators because of the cheap (most of the time with netlify, zeit and github pages even free) hosting.

I've used wordpress in the past and if you still like it and work within the standards just do you πŸ‘ŒπŸ½

My favorite no-code tool would be webflow. As a designer you have a lot of control, you can even use flexbox! If you've used photoshop or similar tools you might want to give it a try!

I wonder what others usually do as well πŸ‘€
