Since its launch in 2021, AppRunner has continuously been improved to cater to the demands of the industry. Several of these improvements have been game-changers for AppRunner, significantly enhancing its robustness in various situations.

Some of these improvements include expanding coverage to multiple regions, supporting AWS WAF web ACLs, redirecting HTTP requests to HTTPS endpoints, enabling privately accessible services within Amazon VPC, supporting additional runtimes, and supporting custom Amazon VPCs for outbound traffic.
