I've been trying for a while to contribute to open source, but I couldn't find a project that was a good match for my relatively basic skill level. I seem to have found something now and hope to contribute soon.

Open source gives developers real control! Working on what you're passionate about, on your own time, while building skills and connections. It's the perfect blend of freedom and growth.

How do you find time to upskill, network, practice leetcode and contribute to open source?

I focus on consistent daily efforts, even if it's just a small amount of time. For upskilling, I dedicate specific hours during the week to learn new tools or technologies. I also leverage weekends or spare time for networking usually through events or social media like LinkedIn. Leetcode and open-source contributions are a part of my regular practice. I try to align these efforts with projects that not only help me improve but also bring value to the community. Prioritization and discipline are key!

That's fantastic advice! I completely agree that making consistent daily efforts, even if just for a small amount of time, can have a tremendous impact on upskilling and personal growth.

Even if You break the routine (e.g.: Due to some life events) I found that it is extremely rewarding to get back to older projects. I have some low priority personal projects going on for years, but every time I am able to do one more step I find myself feeling way better than starting something new.
It might be difficult to resume after some time (esp. After a year or more). I found out that writing notes about important findings, interesting ideas and observations helps a lot. Reading few pages of old notes will get You going really fast.

I completely agree! Revisiting older projects can be incredibly fulfilling. There's something special about picking up where you left off and seeing how far you've come. It reignites my passion for the project and help me regain my momentum. It’s like rediscovering a part of yourself.
