Today, I'm proud to announce the Tea Break Challenge, a daily soft-skills exercise from Developer Tea.
What is the Tea Break Challenge?
Every day, you can do something to improve yourself. You may not learn a new programming technique or trick or hack every day, but no matter where you are, you can take 5 minutes a day to improve your thoughtfulness and mindfulness habits.
Since I started Developer Tea in January of 2015, We've been posting podcast episodes at a rate of about 3 episodes a week. Now, I've decided to expand that content to a more bite-sized written format.
Every day in 2019, you'll see a new challenge. We're posting these everywhere - Instagram, Spectrum.chat, Twitter (@developertea pretty much everywhere)... There's even a free basic JSON endpoint available: https://www.teabreakchallenge.com/today.json - would love to see some cool stuff built with this! Stay tuned for more places as we build out new ways to share this content. (We will probably build an email service soon.)
Bonus for dev.to people: I've also created a little SMS texting bot. Send me a message directly and I'll give you the number to subscribe to if you want a daily text. Currently, this message sends at 9AM Eastern time.
I'd love to hear your thoughts about this! Thank you to those of you who listen to Developer Tea already. I hope that the Tea Break Challenge will become an actionable way for you to become a better developer daily!

Awesome Johnathan. I've listened to Developer Tea since the beginning and I still do to this day because of the thought provoking material, so being able to get even more of this style of content is going to be exciting. Keep doing what you're doing!
Looks cool Jonathan. Feel free to use dev.to to post about these daily or round them up occasionally.
Thanks Ben!
I might try to set up an RSS output to auto-post here.
Really just want to share these ideas as widely as possible!
That's awesome, would love to get a daily dose of this in dev.to to play around with it :)
Who else read this in Jonathan's voice? o/
Awesome idea!! The Dev Tea has always helped in developing my soft skills.I can't wait to start the challenge
My thought: dev.to is actually a good place for me to write down my response to those challenge.
I will do just that, let see where that leads me.
