The official v2.9 of AsmBB has been released.
The main and most important new feature of the engine is the new theme "Urban Sunrise" which (besides its very beautiful appearance) has advanced post editor and supports Unicode emoji both for the forum posts and the chat conversations.

Congrats on the project johnfound,
As a designer turned frontend dev that hardly uses linux or text-based browsers, could I ask you about the best approach to customize an existing/online AsmBB forum?
(eg: step 1 install linux or a linux VM, step 2 download forum files and db, step 3 install it locally by following some documentation, etc)
And since we are here, let me ask: what would be a good place to find people/clients requiring a service like that?
