My name is jun. I play piano more than 20 years and now I'm new to the tech world. You might ask me why I chose tech? why tech? You can go to my website to read that long story.
But here's a good opportunity for my self-reflection on International Women's Day. And thanks DEV for this amazing activity.
๐ซEquality in tech looks like...
when we understand that gender does not limit anyone in tech. And I hope I can see more women voices to discuss important decisions and more tech leadership opportunity for women.
๐Iโm an expert atโฆ
I'm not gonna say I'm expert at something, instead,
- Being outside of comfort zone
- Go through a career transition
- Background in completely non-related to any engineering kind
- Not getting interviews for months
- Imposter syndrome hits me hard that I used to cry
- Failed tests
- Less salary now than I used to earn
- Works have been criticized
-
Still don't know everything
nevertheless, I coded.
๐ฉ๐ปโ๐ปMy advice for allies to support self-identifying women and non-binary folks who code is...
Never stop learning and remember that once you're dreamed of being where you are now ๐ธ
