Ive been planning to write in Dev since January about my journey to restart my career . Im not sure if 'restart' is a correct word to use or not . Never mind just ignore it .
This is my first time writing , so please be nice with my broken english and the way i write . I've be working as a developer since end of 2017 which is this year will be my 4 years as a developer .
How do i know i've been progress well or not ? Normally all company will have performance review / KPI . I start to have a performance review in my current company which now i already go through 2 yearly performance review cycle . For 2 years i got above expectation review from my manager .
And yes , this is where i'm starting become paranoid . Looking back at the experience and my accomplishment in 4 years , i'm starting to lose my confidence on my own skills . Even already deliver multiple project , logically i know what i'm doing , what i suppose to do but this feeling always make me down .
I try to look back what i have been doing and compare with others to improve . In my earlier carrier , I tend to focus on deliver something ( Asal Boleh ) or as long it run . But as time goes on , I involve in building a product , this is where i want more than ( Asal Boleh ) or as long it run , i start to dig in into Unit Testing , Automated Testing , Code Consistency In Team , Code Review ( Sometime need to by pass due to timeline constraint , if you know what i mean ) , Performance and Estimation . I know there will still be some place that did't care all about this , but for me i believe we need this to get and roll out the product / deliver project with a smile and have a good team culture . I'm also new and still have a long way to go , but what i want is one day everyone can get this exposure in their first job .
Now i'm currently in the process to restart @ start over my life as a developer as my first step is to make a good habit in my daily life first to get a positive vibes and appreciate the life i have first . Let's hope i can build and practice the habit really well .
See you in my next writing about my progress in start over my career . I will come back to be a better person .

Congratulations on making the decision to write and share what you're experiencing.
I work with people going through career changes a lot. Something they often find helpful is to imagine their best self in their career. Then write a few words to remind you of that person.
Now, with that you have the chance to make a choice about how you can be more of that person every day. Learn the things they would learn. Say what they would say. Be responsible the way they would. It takes time, and you can't do it all at once, but you can take a tiny step every day.
Thanks ! Wish me luck for my career growth .
