How to Ensure Stable Website Performance with a Large Amount of Interactive Content and High Traffic?

Hi everyone! I'm just starting my journey in web development and currently working on a project with a lot of interactive content (animated elements, integrated games, etc.). The problem is that the site crashes when too many users access it simultaneously. This significantly affects the user experience and leads to complaints. I'm curious how site like this with numerous online games and high traffic, for example, manage to maintain stable performance.

What I've Tried So Far
Content Optimization. Reduced the size of images and multimedia files.
Implemented lazy loading for images and scripts.
Configured caching on the server and browser.
Connected a CDN to distribute content across different geographical locations.

My colleagues suggested several ideas, but Iโ€™m unsure which one would work best:

Vertical Scaling: Upgrade to a more powerful server.
Horizontal Scaling: Add multiple servers and set up load balancing.
Microservices: Split the monolithic architecture into smaller parts, each responsible for a specific functionality.
Database Query Optimization: Reduce the number of SQL queries and implement query caching.
Dedicated Game Servers: Move interactive elements to separate servers.
