VPS (Virtual Private Server) can be the right option between slow/inflexible shared solutions and a dedicated server if you can afford it or don't want to deal with complexity.
Some of the popular choices include: InMotion, DreamHost, Bluehost, A2 Hosting, HostGator, Hostinger, GoDaddy, etc.
What VPS provider do you use/have tried?
How much do you pay monthly? Are you satisfied with the performance, ease of use and support?

I used to use Digital Ocean, still do for old projects, but recently migrated to Google Cloud Platform. Which is cheaper I'd say.
There's also a provider called vps.ag which is also quite affordable and serves me well.
Do you like Google Cloud Platform better than DO when it comes to performance, features, ease of use and support? π
I'm still tinkering around with it but for the most part yeah I do. It has a suite of features that I like.
Usability-wise, DO is definitely more beginner friendly.
For performance comparison, I haven't really compared the metrics but I like how easy it is to autoscale and the cloud run functions on GCP.
Overall, I'd attribute my fast pick up of GCP to having used DO and vps.ag for a long time so the shift wasn't as hard for me.

Hm, you're listing hosting services that also offer VPS options instead of full-fledged VPS providers.
I'd put DigitalOcean and Hetzner at the top of any list. They both grew from plain VPS providers to mini cloud providers (DO even has a managed K8s service)
Thanks for sharing, this is useful info ππ
I see a lot of love for DO, here and elsewhere π
They're probably the most developer focused provider. I'd say that Hetzner aims to be the new DO, with better prices (and now both DO and Hetzner have Terrsform support as well)
Excited to try DO services once the necessity arises π
I've used DigitalOcean for the past 9 years, and have recently been using Vultr.
Vultr seems to have better performance for the money and you can even upload your own ISO images.

I use Gandi which helps many open-source projects to live (which is in accordance with my beliefs) and their platform is really well made with lots of attention for the details and accessibility of their users.

Never heard of it, need to check out π
As of the time being I'm using DigitalOcean for most of my projects. Their Droplets provide me with all of the things I need in terms of performance, reliability and flexibility and pricing is great.
I use a Bulgarian company called NS1 where I host some of my Bulgarian-based projects, but they are very few nowadays.
DO is definitely a strong contender for me too β¨
Love the ecosystem they have built and their vision π
Any particular reason linode isn't mentioned (VPSBenchmarks)?

I recently started using Netlify for my static sites and will begin transitioning my dynamic projects to Firebase.

I've used Google Cloud Platform and DigitalOcean for a long long time for my projects, and now have migrated to Azure which I'm liking a lot.
