According to the Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo, WhiteBIT, one of the largest European cryptocurrency exchanges originating from Ukraine, is a potential partner in resolving the financial problems of Football Club Barcelona.
The source reports that WhiteBIT will pay 20 million euros, which is part of the investment fund Libero's debt to Barcelona. This sum is necessary for the Catalan club to complete the registration of new player Dani Olmo, who joined the team on August 9.
Key facts:
- Last year, the investment fund Libero committed to pay Barcelona 40 million euros for acquiring a stake in Barca Vision (audiovisual rights), but due to financial difficulties, it couldn't fulfill its obligations.
- Half of the sum - 20 million euros - was paid by the American food service company Aramark.
- WhiteBIT is a key partner for settling the remaining part of the debt.
If the deal is successfully completed, Barcelona will be able to register Dani Olmo for participation in La Liga matches. It is expected that the footballer will make his debut for the team on August 27 in a match against Rayo Vallecano.
