with schizophrenia. Correct answers and cognitive fatigability have potential to be functional markers of successful smartphone-based psychiatric rehabilitations in schizophrenia patients.Epithelial mesenchymal transition (EMT) is a complex process through which epithelial (E) cells lose their adherens junctions, transform into mesenchymal (M) cells and attain motility, leading to metastasis at distant organs. Nowadays, the concept of EMT has shifted from a binary phase of interconversion of pure E to M cells and vice versa to a spectrum of E/M transition states preferably coined as hybrid/partial/intermediate EMT. Hybrid EMT, being a plastic transient state, harbours cells which co-express both E and M markers and exhibit high tumourigenic properties, leading to stemness, metastasis, and therapy resistance. Several preclinical and clinical studies provided the evidence of co-existence of E/M phenotypes. Regulators including transcription factors, epigenetic regulators and phenotypic stability factors (PSFs) help in maintaining the hybrid state. Computational and bioinformatics approaches may be excellent for identifying new factors or combinations of regulatory elements that govern the different EMT transition states. Therapeutic intervention against hybrid E/M cells, though few, may evolve as a rational strategy against metastasis and drug resistance. This review has attempted to present the recent advancements on the concept and regulation of the process of hybrid EMT which generates hybrid E/M phenotypes, evidence of intermediate EMT in both preclinical and clinical setup, impact of partial EMT on promoting tumourigenesis, and future strategies which might be adapted to tackle this phenomenon.Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is associated with worse prognosis of prostate cancer (PCa). The molecular mechanisms behind this association are still not fully understood. The aim of this study was to identify key factors, which contribute to the more aggressive PCa phenotype in patients with concurrent T2D. Therefore, we investigated benign and PCa tissue of PCa patients with and without diabetes using real time qPCR. Compared to patients without diabetes, patients with T2D showed a decreased E-cadherin/N-cadherin (CDH1/CDH2) ratio in prostate tissue, indicating a switch of epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), which is a pivotal process in carcinogenesis. In addition, the gene expression levels of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and CC chemokine ligands (CCLs) were higher in prostate samples of T2D patients. Next, prostate adenocarcinoma PC3 cells were treated with increasing glucose concentrations to replicate hyperglycemia in vitro. In these cells, high glucose induced expressions of MMPs and CCLs, which showed significant positive associations with the proliferation marker proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA). These results indicate that in prostate tissue of men with T2D, hyperglycemia may induce EMT, increase MMP and CCL gene expressions, which in turn activate invasion and inflammatory processes accelerating the progression of PCa.Functional responses of the fall armyworm (FAW) larvae at each stage, and their intraspecific competition associated with cannibalism, provide insights into developing pest management strategies for the FAW. To help use insecticides more sparingly, the functional response and intraspecific competition of the FAW larvae were evaluated under the laboratory conditions. The results showed that all stages of the FAW larvae displayed a type II functional response to diet. Based on Holling's disc equation, the search rate (a) and handling time (Th) of sixth instar larvae (a = 0.493; Th = 0.37 min) were the highest, and the shortest of all larval stages, respectively. Intraspecific competition curves fitted the data for fourth to sixth larval stages of the FAW, and the coefficient of intraspecific competition (m) assessed by the intraspecific competition equation were highest for fifth instar larvae (m = 0.48). The present study indicates that 5th and 6th instar larvae can cause the most plant damage (accounted for 88.9% of larval consumption), and these stages should be the focus of any pest management strategy. Intraspecific competition, especially cannibalism, impacts the feeding patterns of the FAW larvae and needs close attention. Understanding the functional response and intraspecific competition of the FAW larvae contributes greatly to practical applications of insecticides, increasing the effectiveness of chemical sprays and decreasing ecological damage. This paper proposes new sets of suitable broadcast ephemeris parameters for geosynchronous (GEO) and inclined geosynchronous (IGSO) navigation satellites (NSs). Despite the increasing number of GEO and IGSO NSs, global positioning system (GPS)-type ephemeris parameters are still widely used for them. In an effort to provide higher fit accuracy, we analyze a variety of broadcast ephemeris parameters for GEO and IGSO satellites along with their orbital characteristics and propose optimal sets of parameters. Nonsingular elements and orbital plane rotation are adopted for alleviating/avoiding the singularity issues of GEO satellites. On the basis of 16 parameters of GPS LNAV, we add one to four parameters out of 28 correction ones to determine optimal sets of ephemeris parameters providing higher accuracy. All possible parameter sets are tested with the least-square curve fit for four BeiDou GEOs and six BeiDou IGSOs. Their fit accuracies are compared to determine the optimal broadcast ephemeris parameters that provide minimum fit errors. The set of optimal ephemeris parameters depends on the type of orbit. User range error (URE) accuracies of the proposed optimal ephemeris parameters ensure results within 2.4 cm for IGSO and 3.8 cm for GEO NSs. Moreover, the experimental results present common parameter sets for both IGSO and GEO for compatibility and uniformity. Compared with four conventional/well-known sets of ephemeris parameters for BeiDou, our proposed parameters can enhance accuracies of up to 34.5% in terms of URE. We also apply the proposed optimal parameter sets to one GEO and three IGSO satellites of QZSS. Pexidartinib The effects of fitting intervals, number of parameters, total bits, and orbit types on the fit accuracy are addressed in detail.Pexidartinib
