Today I learned that after installing Node.js I need to reboot to use npm. It might be obvious for experienced people, but not for beginners like me.
I don't remember having to reboot after installing Node.js but maybe you're on Windows?
Also, there are node version managers like nvm which you may find handy.

This has always been a node version manager, not an io.js manager, so there is no back-support for io.js. Node 4+ isโฆ

I learned that I won't work better or faster when I pressure myself too much - this always ends up doing nothing. So I try to be patient and get some more structure before I start. To Do lists help me a lot!
