Hello world!

Hello, humans! Welcome to Oscar's Bytes, where you'll dive into front-end development with guidance from none other than yours truly, Oscar.

If it’s not obvious yet, I'm a British tuxedo cat, and this blog is (hopefully) going to be your go-to for essential coding knowledge, all served with a healthy dose dose of sarcasm and wit. Someone has to help you through this coding chaos and it might as well be me!

I spent my early days basking in the warmth of my human’s laptop, watching him fumble through JavaScript. Painful, but entertaining. I couldn’t take it any longer, so I stepped in, and now I’m dedicated to helping hapless humans like you write code that doesn’t make my whiskers curl, all while keeping up with my nap schedule and locating the sunniest spot in the house.

I’ve seen it all: spaghetti code that’d make an Italian chef cry, builds so broken they needed resuscitation, and developers who can’t tell a div from a span. My job? To help you avoid these disasters. I'll be teaching you how to write clean, efficient code, with a mix of tough love and my superior cat instincts. Trust me, you’ll need it!

This blog isn’t just about coding; it’s about enjoying the process (and maybe having a laugh at your expense). Here’s what’s ahead:

  • Angular Fundamentals: Setting up your first project without total chaos. Think it’ll be easy? You’re likely mistaken, but don’t worry - I’ll get you through it.

  • Common Pitfalls: Let’s be honest, humans make mistakes. My human, Ralph, is no exception. I’ll show you what to avoid, with Ralph’s fumbles as a learning tool.

  • Real Projects: Forget theory; we’re building actual applications. Things will go wrong, but that’s where you’ll learn to get them right.

  • Advanced Topics: Once you’ve mastered the basics, we’ll dive into some more in-depth stuff to keep your app from falling apart under pressure.

And yes, we’ll probably have to acknowledge React eventually, although we may need to bring in a dog as a guest blogger for that — that tail-chasing chaos seems right up their alley!

Expect tutorials, best practices, and occasional rants about why humans make things harder than they need to be. My mission? To help you code better—and maybe even enjoy it (though let’s not get carried away).

Now, about Ralph. He’s the well-meaning human in this duo, always trying his best but often falling short. You’ll see him pop up now and then, usually to ask questions that I graciously answer (cue eye-roll). Think of Ralph as your stand-in: if he can handle this, so can you.

Together, we’ll tackle front-end development, with Ralph making the mistakes so you don’t have to. I won’t make it easy; nothing worthwhile ever is. But I promise it’ll be worth your time.

So grab your laptop, check your ego at the door, and get ready to dive into front-end development Oscar-style.

First up: setting up Angular without losing your mind (or what’s left of your hair). Stay tuned, humans—you’ll need me.
