Summer 2024 Check-in: What’s Been on Your Mind?

Hey dev.to community! 👋

As we find ourselves in the heart of summer 2024, I wanted to take a moment to reach out and check in with all of you. This year has been quite a journey—full of twists, turns, and unexpected moments. I’ve been wondering how you’re all doing and what you’ve been up to. So, let’s connect and catch up!

What’s been keeping you busy lately?

Are you exploring a new programming language, perhaps diving into a project that’s got you excited, or learning a new framework that’s testing your limits? Or maybe you’ve decided to take a step back and give yourself a well-earned break from the grind. Whatever’s been occupying your time and mind, I’d love to hear about it.

How’s your summer unfolding?

For those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, we’re soaking in the warmth of summer. And for our friends down south, how’s the winter treating you? Have you found a way to strike that balance between work and some much-needed relaxation? Maybe you’ve attended or are planning to attend a tech event or meetup that’s got you buzzing?

How’s 2024 shaping up for you?

We’re more than halfway through the year now, and it feels like a good moment to reflect. How has 2024 treated you? Have you hit any personal milestones or career achievements that you’re proud of? Or maybe you’ve faced some challenges that you’d like to share? Whatever the case, I’m genuinely interested in how this year has unfolded for you so far.

A Bit About Me

On a more personal note, this summer has been a tough one for me. I’ve been a bit quieter on here this year because I’ve been navigating some difficult times—my father’s health has been declining, and just this month, I had to say goodbye to him. It’s been incredibly hard, and I’ve found myself turning to music to cope. Creating music has been my way of staying connected to him, as music was such a big part of his life—he was an accomplished singer. Now, making music feels like a way to keep his memory alive and to work through the grief.

I’m curious—have any of you found comfort in coding or other creative outlets during tough times? How do you manage the balance between your work and personal challenges?

Let’s lean on each other and share our experiences. Whether you’re celebrating wins or facing hardships, remember this community is a place where we can be real with each other.

Looking forward to hearing your stories. <3
