Hello open source enthusiasts π
Again this year, the Process Analytics team is participating in Hacktoberfest 2022, as we did for Hacktoberfest 2021 and Hacktoberfest 2020.
Whether you are a beginner or an experienced front-end developer, youβve never done front-end development but you come from a process analytics or business process management BPM community, or simply you are fan of processes π, we have issues for you !
We welcome your help to improve the project with your contributions and ideas.
The Process Analytics project
Our cornerstone project is bpmn-visualization π±, a TypeScript library for visualizing process execution data on BPMN diagrams. It comes with a companion repository of examplesβ¨.
For Hacktoberfest, we have several contribution categories.
If you are fan of processes and their visualization π, we propose for you to work on topics like extending the BPMN (which is the de-facto process modeling language) support, improving the BPMN elements design, or others - we have more to suggest. You may want to have a look at hacktoberfest issues from the Typescript library bpmn-visualization.
If you are more into design π¨ and project content π, check the Process Analytics website and bpmn-visualization-examples repository. π
If you are a Process Analyst π΅οΈββοΈ, we are featuring advocacy related contributions which are now officially introduced by Hacktoberfest 2022. You may want to have a look at the bpmn-visualization-examples repository and particularly at this issue.
Finally, if you are an experienced web developer π, and youβd like to add examples of integration with popular frameworks such as Angular, React, VueJS and more, you can check the integration related issues of the bpmn-visualization-examples.
R users π will be interested in bpmn-visualization-R, the R package for visualizing process execution data on BPMN diagrams, using overlays, style customization and interactions.
Promoting HacktoberFest 2022
We have updated our now-famous application that promotes the event π₯³. It now includes the new 2022 theme in addition to the existing 2020 and 2021 themes.
You can easily adapt the customizable diagram so that it contains your project name, and you can choose between different light and dark themes! π
Feel free to use it for your own communication (we will be happy if you mention us on Twitter with a link to our website π€). It is available in our β© live demo.
Even if you donβt code!
Remember that an Open Source contribution is not necessarily about code. Have a look at How to Make Non-Code Contributions to Open-Source Projects for some insights.
