RoSctober Fest Wrap-Up: A Month of Code, Community, and Sloth Points! šŸ¦„

Last week, we wrapped up RoSctober Fest, announcing the contributors and celebrating everything achieved during the event. Coders from all around the globe joined us for a month filled with open-source collaboration and fun! While the fest has ended, the energy and achievements are still alive. Letā€™s revisit some of the highlights!

Kicking Off with a Roar... Er, a Slow and Steady Start šŸ¢

RoSctober Fest began with a mission: rallying developers to explore Rust, JavaScript, AssemblyScript, and moreā€”contributing to projects that keep our open-source ecosystem alive and thriving. The event took place throughout October, dedicated not only to honing skills but also to building a community of developers who care about making a differenceā€”one line of code at a time.

From day one, we witnessed a fantastic mix of new faces and seasoned developers jumping in with enthusiasm. The spirit of open-source collaboration was alive as developers tackled projects ranging from debugging tools to data management solutions.

Contributions, PRs, and Sloth Points Galore! šŸ’Ŗ

Each contribution to RoSctober Fest was more than just a pull requestā€”it was a step closer to boosting individual skills and a chance to earn Sloth Points! Our community wasnā€™t just about code; it was about the friendly competition to stack up Sloth Points and celebrate each otherā€™s wins.

Hereā€™s a breakdown of the top contributions:

  • Rust Projects: Perfect for the performance-seekers, Rust enthusiasts really brought their A-game. Developers contributed to foundational projects, adding new features, fixing bugs, and enhancing overall performance.
  • JavaScript and AssemblyScript: These projects became the playground for our contributors. It was great to see the different ways people approached problems and shared their solutions.

The Prize Poolā€”$10,000 in NEAR USDT! šŸ’ø

Nothing fuels coding creativity like an epic prize pool! Thanks to the $10,000 prize pool in NEAR USDT, our contributors had more than enough motivation to bring their best ideas forward. For every PR submitted, the community got one step closer to grabbing their share of the reward and standing out in the Race of Sloths community.

We had 16 incredible contributors who collectively earned 7,701 eligible Sloth Points over the course of the event. In the end, the prize pool was split among these dedicated developers, recognizing their hard work and contributions throughout RoSctober Fest.
