In today's discuss, I'd like to know:

It's been a while benhalpern.com/
This was a wild ride. Thanks for a delightful morning scroll, lol
@Erin, if you'd like the wild ride to continue, may I suggest checking out Ling's Cars? lingscars.com/
What's been the main reason? Time commitments, trying to figure out what to do next, other priorities?
I built my personal website luiscontreras.dev a month ago. My goal is to publish at least one post every month. In November I published my first article ever and I'm currently writing the draft of my next post. Only 10 days left, but I'm confident I'll make it.
Awesome design!
Thanks!
Iβm sure youβll get it done too. And congrats on the new site! (As a fellow π©π΄, saludos βΊοΈ)
Gracias, saludos! π©π΄
Hmm.. usually over the holidays when I find interesting content to post, or when I want to try something out.
It's not only my website but also my playground (for example I migrated away from CRA to a custom webpack because I wanted to get to grips with webpack). Next I might actually finish my contact and about me page π
Got it, so it sounds like you update it seasonally. Is that true of content only or are there other updates you make (like design)?
Updates, not so much, more like fixes. For example, the mobile view is currently a little bit broken, so I've been tinkering with it one-and-off, but with our new family member (doggo), I've been finding it difficult to justify spending time coding when I could be spending time giving belly rubs.
I used to stress myself about it and force fixes and new features (on top of a 9h work day), but I can see it took its toll (always tired, never really happy with what I had). Now that I have a solid knowledge base (I administer my own server, host my own website on it, manage some services like Plex and nextcloud and perform pretty well in my job as a web dev), I find it more rewarding to spend quality time with my family.
I do have some projects set up over the Christmas break, but I don't pressure myself anymore. I find that this way I am more balanced, and through that, better equipped to deal with stressful times at work, a difficult customer.
Definitely a much more sustainable approach; completely understand. Thanks for sharing!
Contentwise, once or twice a month, trying to build consistency on that part my goal being to post weekly as there's too little content on my site. Few design updates at least once in two months, did major changes this month though, first a bit of design updates and second was migrating from firebase for data storage to FaunaDB. Though a wholesome redesign is definitely in my thoughts. - jamesinkala.me
Thatβs great, James!
I usually update my portfolio site when I am looking for a job.
Thanks! What changes do you make to your site when you look for a job? Do you put new information up?
if there are any updates or missing information. Sometimes I update any skills or project I have been working on and feel confident about.
Awesome, thanks for sharing!
I don't update mine that often because any projects i'm working on go on GitHub first. I would only link to them on my portfolio once they are complete. I think having a GitHub is more than good enough as an online portfolio especially with the addition of having a Readme homepage now.
For the last two months or so, I've been updating my site almost weekly. Most of the time, to publish new posts and to polish old content. For example, to reword paragraphs, add images and banners, add sections and subsections.
That's great!
I've got my own website. There are some web services that I`ve created. It takes a lot of time and inspiration. So, I update my site nearly once a season, when creating a new service
Got it, thanks for sharing!
Once in a blue moon, a while ago I stripped it all and put under construction, and today I just added a link to my dev.to. Maybe I should give it a bit more love, and use/update it more...
What do you think you'd like to use your personal website for? What would you showcase?
I don't know. I think I might re-make it soon
As a teen, I don't have much time to work on web development at all. However, I try to update my personal site (micahlindley.com) whenever I start a new project or notice a bug (it tends to be the latter π). I also use it to explore new technologies I'm learning. For example, around six months ago I rebuilt it to use CSS grid. I'm currently planning to replace my static HTML projects list with one powered by the GitHub API since everything I work on is open-source.
Basically i'm updating my website daily. Like add new post daily and remove spam comment etc.
Oh wow, that's interesting! How much time would you say you spend? An hour or so daily?
actually i'm trying to find good content for my site, so at least 3 to 4 hours working a day on my website, and also managing my social media accounts and YouTube channel everyday :)
Wow, that's a lot of content creation (I wish I had the time to do that)! Awesome. ;)
Oops thank you for starting this. I have to make my personal site
Share it with us when it's ready! What will you put on it?
Portfolio and blog posts.
Whenever I learn something new nd find interesting, I try it out on my website harshvats.dev
Very cool :)
Since the last update of my website https//ogaston.com/ I haven't returned again. However, I have to fix some minor issues and SEO optimization as well. next month task I guess :)
Not very often. Maybe a minor tweak every month or so. For the blog side (which is separate, but not exactly) I write a new blog post each week.
Gotcha, thanks for sharing Shannon!
I write blogs regularly on my blog puruvj.dev, and I do so using Git, and local markdown files, so It's always being updated π
That's awesome, great job!
Usually when I learn new things ...
Usually when I launch a new game or a project. Want to get into writing blog posts but donβt have the time with developing games and my youtube channel.

What kind of updates? Blog posts or other things?
It's been so long since I last updated anything... I am not even bothering to link because both of 'em contain a boring placeholder... yes, I have two.
