Happy new year \o/
At RedHacks, our goal is to help you practice and take the next step in your career in tech. In 2023, we created this practice group so that everyone could get experience by working together on realistic projects. We created projects to help ecological farmers' markets, incentivize blood donation, integrate command line interfaces, and much more.
However, we need much more engagement and mentorship to be sustainable and successful. Our monetization strategy is not to charge members, except for a symbolic fee, mostly to prevent the "vandalism" we faced previously. We hope that, with the growth of our projects, we can monetize from the projects as an independent software organization.
It's essentially a chicken-and-egg situation. We need more members and investment to build projects but better projects to attract members and investment. That's why we decided to open our bounties program.
Bounties
Starting TODAY we'll be placing rewards on tickets, using bountysource.com, to incentivize participation in projects. This is not meant as a salary or any kind of work relationship. It's just a way to give back to the community, especially to the most engaged participants in the project.
All tickets with bounties will be clearly tagged, and rewards will be offered for all kinds of tasks. Backend, Frontend, Management, Publication, and all other activities we need to perform as a software organization. We hope that those rewards will help keep projects active and tasks well distributed among members, according to each individual interest and availability.
Bounties will start at $20 and will be revised monthly. We hope that this helps to keep members and projects active and healthy. If you'd like that, check your eligibility on bountysource.com and set up your account right away.
We're at your service to help you build and collect as much as possible. Join our meetings, and let's get our hands dirty. Your ideas and projects are very much welcome.
Let's build!
