This community is great ♥ it allows to anyone to contribute , beginners or experts , they all contribute with good quality posts or good questions like yours. This community is big and little in the same time. There are a lot of contributors and they're close to each other, Sometimes you'll find the founder Ben or the co-founders Jess and Peter commenting on posts you write.
So ask questions or write about what you learnt , what you know and you'll find a very good interaction here in dev.to , this is really the best dev community you'll ever find.
Happy dev.to contributing ♥
Thanks for the reply. 😊
A small yet really important thing is just to comment on different articles that you found useful - why you liked them, your favorite aspects, or even pieces of your own perspective on the topic. Believe me, sometimes some good feedback can really make a dev's day :)
Asking follow-up questions on posts are a great way to contribute. It's a great way to draw a lot of expertise out into the open.
writing quality posts will help a lot of us
Hi Sathish, you're already a part of the dev.to community :)
You can help out some more by leaving positive reactions and comments to support your fellow devs, and contributing articles of your own to help share your knowledge and valuable perspective.
Sometime early next year, we'll open-sourcing the code-base, so that the community can actively contribute to the underlying technology that powers the platform. We're so excited to reach that even deeper level of community collaboration and agency to improve everyone's experience here.
Yessssssssssssssssssssss
Assumption: All five-year-olds like to build sandcastles and don't know how to write yet.
You like building sandcastles.
You especially like to dig the castle moat. You can also build the other parts of the sandcastle, but not THAT well.
One day, you see lots of other kids building sandcastles. They get along really well and you want to build sandcastles with them while also becoming a better sandcastle-builder.
You join the other kids and discover that some of them struggle with moat construction, but other parts of their castles look amazing.
You nicely explain your intricate strategies. In exchange, they explain how they constructed that awesome balcony where the prince climbs up to visit the princess at night to play with the princess' Nintendo Switch, because you were struggling to build a cool balcony with a view.
When the other kids ask you questions, you answer them politely and try to get along with everybody. After all, there are no stupid questions and you remember the times when you were struggling with constructing a good moat.
You also listen to the other kids and remember their tips on how to deal with that stinky cat that keeps clawing you and pooping into the sand and whose poop bits you keep finding when you're sieving the sand.
You all help one another and you build great, grand, scalable sandcastles that you can all be very proud of.
The End.
Well, if you are pondering writing articles, I'll just say that you have the perfect plateform in dev.to. I know it is sometimes daunting to put yourself out there, but this is a very safe place to experiment with your writing, at least it has been for me. We're all friendly here 😊
I lurked for a long while before commenting and posting... I was nervous and met with a ton of friendly responses... new online friends <3
I find Stack Overflow super hostile and this was a lot more chatty. So welcome!
