As a senior developer you might be busy in daily work or project deadline in your workplace.
Suppose in between a Fresher or Junior Developer comes to you and says can you help me to find solution for my X problem ?
What will be your reaction 😄 ?
- Ask them to do some homework and then ask for help.
- Reject the request and request to ask someone else.
- Judge them and Ask them to learn the basics.
- Complain about the new Joiner to Manager.
- Kindly take some time to look at the X problem and explain them how to solve.
Do you have any other ways to help Fresher or Junior Developer 😄 ?

Junior's need to be nurtured by senior/lead devs. So for me, it's always the last point. If a dev needs help, I'll always help, even if it means staying behind an extra hour to finish my work.
If none of your team has time to help the junior dev, then should you really be hiring one?
Nice 😄, I agree. I also do the last point because I understand. You know I also was a fresher one day. I just put the other points to know what other developers do. :)
I like helping them out. I generally ask if they have any possible solutions on mind first and then I give a hint or show them the path to look for. I also later check and discuss what approach they followed and why. I love to hear the thoughts of others on different problems and sometimes I also learn from it.
Nice 😄 process, Yes I agree we also learn from Juniors.
I would like to do pair programming as regular part in our daily work with Fresher or Junior developer, during the processing I can know exactly what their problems are and how to help them, maybe they're not strong in some basic knowledge, I'll suggest going through the official docs firstly and practice more, maybe they can't dive into the issue deeply due to less thinking, I'll resolve the problem step by step and guide them how I consider in my mind.
