The search functionality on GitHub.com has been continually improving, making it an invaluable resource for discovering intriguing code snippets and projects.
Recently, I've stumbled upon two alternative search engines that have piqued my interest and warrant further exploration:
grep.app - This platform offers the ability to search across more than half a million git repositories. My initial impressions are positive, although the repository count may seem limited in comparison to the vast expanse of available code online.
Sourcegraph - Code search and an AI assistant with the context of the code graph. Sourcegraph presents a user experience that bears resemblance to GitHub's search feature.
It's encouraging to observe emerging competition in the code search arena. However, it's still premature for me to declare a definitive favorite among these tools.
Happy searching, and may you find the code insights you're looking for!
