Different types of cluster in EDB

Following are some of the details of the types of clusters that we can select to deploy on EDB Big Animal.

Single Node:

A single node creates a cluster with on primary and no standby replicas. These clusters might be specified where we might not need high availability. You can create single node clusters running postgres or EDB postgres advanced server.

Primary/Standby High Availability:

It creates a cluster with one primary and one or two standby replicas in different availability zones. You can create primary/standby high-availability clusters running PostgreSQL or EDB Postgres Advanced Server. Read only workloads is only enabled using these clusters. However if you need to enable read-only workloads, then you might have to raise the IP address resource limits for the cluster.

Distributed High Availability:

EDB Postgres Distributed powers this cluster with up to two data groups which are spread across multiple cloud regions to deliver higher performance and ability to recover fastly.
