What is RPM ?
- RPM stands for Red Hat Package Manager. It was developed by Red Hat and is primarily used on Red Hat-based Linux operating systems
- Is just another package format used mainly by Red Hat and its derivatives like CentOS.
- Luckily, an alien tool permits us to set up an RPM file on Ubuntu or convert an RMP file into a Debian package file. Practically, anything from one Linux distribution can be done on another with a change in approach.
sudo apt-get install alien
sudo alien remarkable-1.87-1.rpm
sudo dpkg -i remarkable_1.87-2_all.deb
