Is it useful to learn only COBOL to get productive?

In these few weeks during the great lockdown cause COVID-19, we have read and heard about the shortage of COBOL programmers, many people have started to learn, experiment, or only for curiosity trying to look more further about this old fashioned language.

But only a few people know that it is only the tip of the iceberg for running, build or maintain a COBOL program.

There a lot of things to learn out there.

This is my first post in dev.to and next, I will try to explain what is JCL (Job control language) and its utility in a Mainframe environment.

For now, I have prepared a GitHub repository that contains various samples of COBOL programming during my training experience after will be updated with more samples related to Mainframe arguments:

Is anyone interested?
