There is no big gap, those are just jobs titles, and job titles are meaningless.
What's more important : that you have the title of writer, or that you write interesting books?
So see this huge gap as lots of cool skills to learn, and learn them one by one.
I completely agree about job titles being meaningless, hence I focused on the role and what it generally entails, rather than job titles. The gap does exist once you compare the expected responsibilities of a senior dev with that of a junior or a mid level dev.
