Overview

Okay, it's almost October and it's time for the Hacktoberfest! πŸŽƒ
A mondial event that calls developers from all over the World to donate their skills to Open Source.
Are you curious to know more? Continue to read and you won't regret it! πŸ‘»
Let's start πŸ€™πŸΌβ€‹

What is Hacktoberfest? πŸ€”

Hacktoberfest is an annual event organized by Digital Ocean and now in its eleventh edition, that encourages people to contribute to Open Source throughout October.
If you want partecipate, I recommend that you follow the official guide.
It's amazing how much added value participation in this event can bring! 🀯

Participating in Hacktoberfest leads to personal growth, professional opportunities, and community building.
It's possible to participate as a contributor or maintainer of an Open Source project: add the "hacktoberfest" topic to your repository and apply the "hacktoberfest" label to issues you want contributors to help.
As contributor, the goal is open four PR which must be merged.

It's very simple, no? 🫣

Easy

Yes, I'll partecipate 🀫

This is my second year at this event and I'm very, very excited!
I'll partecipate as contributor and in this edition I'll try to complete the goal (the last year I didn't succeed πŸ₯²).
There are a lot of projects that need help in terms of PR, but remember, contributing to Open Source is not just about opening up PR: reporting problems (issues section), updating documentation, sharing projects on social media or starting personal projects are very valid ways to contribute.
But that's another story for a future article πŸ˜‰

Astro Minimal is waiting for you! 🫡🏼

Astro Minimal is my little project that I created while developing my website.

Okay, so what is it? πŸ€”
Astro Minimal is an open source blog template designed and developed using Astro and the Bulma CSS framework πŸš€

Okay, I said that I will participate as a contributor, but I would be very happy to receive improved PR for this project!
(Issues with proposals or bug reports are also welcome, no problem ✌🏼)

Conclusion

I wish all participants the best of luck and may it be a productive Hacktoberfest and let me know how this experience will go! 😎
And now...

Happy coding!✨

It's that time of year again πŸŽ‰πŸŽƒ
I just wanted to make sure you were aware as a repo maintainer/owner you do have to add your repo to the list.
And I think you need to have Hacktoberfest added as a topic.
I didn't see the labels on GitHub Mobile πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

My 4th PR last year didn't count because of that, so I'm on the lookout this year πŸ˜‚
