I wanna hear some of that new new. What are the latest releases y'all have been tuning into? What new musicians or albums have caught your ears recently? Or, if you're not really into new music, what new old stuff has pulled you in! I know I regularly come across and get hooked on old recordings that are new to me. As always though, feel free to color outside the lines... in other words, share whatever you wanna and don't feel bound by this edition's focus! 😀
How we do
In this weekly series, folks can chime in and drop links to whatever it is they've been listening to recently + browse others suggestions. You can follow the suggested genre if you'd like, but don't feel confined to it; you're free to suggest whatever you wanna. 🙌
If you're interested in having other discussions about music, consider following the aptly named #music discussions organization.
Show me something new! Note: you can embed a link to your song using the following syntax {% embed https://... %}
. This should work for most common platforms!
Looking forward to listening to y'all's suggestions! 🎶

This is rather for 'experimental' than 'new' topic, so I missed to recommend this in the previous edition.
This is what happened when progressive-metal and rap-vocal sounds like when they are mixed/mashed.
This is awesome!! Excellent and highly original mashup.
This is kinda old school now, but you ever listen to DJ DangerMouse's The Grey Album — Jay Z's Black Album mashed together with The Beatles' White Album?
It's a classic. 🙂
This is cool!! sometimes rap-vocal fits to some other music than itself!
Pretty much either of:
I also like to add Brian Eno soundtracks to meetings 😅
Oooo yes! All good go-to music stations.
I have tuned into Lofi Girl many a time and also definitely went down the synthwave rabbit hole — I've not listened to Synthwave Boy as much, but have explored similar channels to get my synth fix, haha.
If you're looking for a cool synthwavy band, I recommend checking out The Midnight. Someone showed them to me a couple years ago and they definitely have a healthy dose synthwave mixed with good old fashioned pop tunes from the 80's. They're a group that I keep on returning to!
My favorite album of theirs is Monsters... here are a couple tunes from it that'll kinda give you a sense of their flavor:
And don't even get me started on Eno... he's a wizard. 🧙♂️
Thanks for the suggestions, I'll check it out :-)
Oh, and Faun
This one is recent, love listen again and again
Also this music
Aaaand Fred Again.. for the best part and train travel 🚂🚃🚃
I freaking love Fred again.. 🙌 I have not tuned into this album that he made with Brian Eno... I'll have to do so! Funny, elsewhere in this thread I was saying to @taikedz about how awesome Eno is.
Also, that Don Diablo tune is a quiet banger. I'll tune into Abroad in a wee bit!
Thanks for the suggestions, Thomas!

It's that time of year!!!
Awwww yeah! My fave time of year. 🎃
Gotta love The Nightmare Before Christmas...
Btw, Jake, you might have fun exploring some of the songs in this edition of Music Monday:

Nice! Some great selections in there! 💀👻🎃
There's this pretty old song called "Ladyfingers" that's been trending on Instagram for a while now that I've recently been hearing playing in my head like elevator music.
Haha, this is great! I dig it and love your description of it. Cool that this is making it's rounds on Instagram.
It kinda reminds me of a suggestion that I received from Nate (@neagle) a few weeks back in the "Music Monday: Niche Edition" for exotica.
So, this is not necessarily all that similar, but perhaps from a similar part of the world... I've always loved this version of "The Girl From Ipanema":
I mean hey, it's got some similar elevator music vibes to it, haha!
Last one... and this a big reach, but when it comes to mostly instrumental music with a jazzy, international tinge to it, I really dig this album called "The Outernational Sound" by a group called Thievery Corporation. It's more modern than the other stuff we've been talking about, but I think it's pretty cool... and several of the tunes in this album would likely still be mild enough for most elevators. Here's the full album; check out the time stamps, in case you wanna skip around the tracks.
The Girl from Ipanema is one of those songs that just feels eternal: it's in a unique space all to itself that will last forever. Impossible to overpraise.
Thank you for the awesome recommendations! I fell in love with "The Girl from Ipanema" on first listen!
I am listening the new album of Edu Falaschi (former Angra singer) on loop since it was released, Eldorado. Great mix of Progressive/Power Metal with LATAM music

Just wanted to note a few places that I like to visit on YouTube to find new music.
I still love tuning into these Scary Pockets covers... I keep on finding new good ones, like this version here of "Stayin' Alive":
Can’t get enough of Matthew Halsall new record while i am waiting for the vinyl record which will arrive in a couple of weeks m.youtube.com/watch?v=kFbeQUPf1ds
Woooaaaaaa! This is absolutely gorgeous sounding.
The opening track is so peaceful and lovely. I'm just getting started on track 2 — "Water Street" and wow, this is exactly what I wanted to hear right now... I think I'll probably listen to the whole album. Thank you, thank you, thank you for this!
Hope ya don't mind that I embed it on your behalf for other folks:
UK Jazz school traditions. Never a disappointment! Matthew is a musical visionaire and multi instrumentalist, check his previous records as well!
Feel free, mate. DJ, vinyl collector here, my pleasure to share some gorgeous music to ya all
I recently learned about the guitarist Julian Lage and so have been diving deep into his catalog. I particularly recommend watching the videos of him playing live. He's such a dynamic, soulful, and incredibly talented guitar player.
Here's a few for y'all in no particular order:
