So many amazing metal albums were released the year I was born. I think that may be why I love it.
And so many more.
Great year for punk too.
Rock on 84`!!! 🤘
Wow, there were a lotta damn good albums released this year.
Looks like 1976 was a pretty good year for rock in general: albumoftheyear.org/genre/7-rock/1976/ a couple of good metal one's as well albumoftheyear.org/genre/93-heavy-...
For a song, I am going to pick "Have You Ever Seen The Rain" by Creedence Clearwater Revival.
Love that tune! Creedence is just golden... they have so many good songs!
The 70's are easily my favorite time for music and you're right there in the middle of it. 🙌
Arguably my least favorite Beach Boys track, "Kokomo", was released on my birthday, July 18th, 1988. 😅
It's just so incredibly cheesy. 🧀 The Beach Boys are often (always?) cheesy, and I generally love them, but they took it too far here, haha!
On July 2nd of 1988, Michael Jackson released the single for "Dirty Diana" and according to Wikipedia:
The album [Bad](en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bad(album))_ released in August of 87` but I wanna give it a mention because it was the soundtrack of my childhood. 😀
Meanwhile, Jane's Addiction were cooking up a future alternative classic in Southern Cal with Nothing's Shocking... I think this was a pretty dang original sound for the times!
And finally, a handful of my classic rock heroes got together to casually form a supergroup called The Traveling Wilburys... I kinda wanna claim them as the original "dad rock" band.
It was quite a nice year
Oh nice! What a good mix here, Paulo.
I'm lovin' the variety of tunes. I approached it in kinda a similar way. How can I choose just one album from one genre when there are so many goodies?! 😀
that's the spirit! If it makes me shake my head or snap my fingers while I'm in hyperfocus mode, it's good music, genre doesn't matter.
Haha, well said. I feel the same way!
Missed these! Such fantastic groups. Two of my favorites right there!
Number 1 on the charts on my birthday...way back in 1975...
Oh that's a really damn good song! I'm not sure if I'd heard it before or not... it's very familiar. Love that sax part that comes in at the end too.
And wow, so cool that this was released on your birthday! 😀
I have one and I can say: It's a very really good song!
Awww man, I remember this one. My brother had this this single on CD and I used to snatch it from his room all the time.
Puff Daddy was on top of the world in the 90's... oooo how the mighty have fallen. 😔
