Last week's topic of sunny weather got me thinking about Reggae. I know lots of minds are gonna go straight to Bob Marley (mine totally did) but really there are loads of excellent Reggae musicians out there. We have Jamaica to thank for this excellent, and highly original style of music. Then of course, there's the precursors and offshots: ska, rocksteady, dub, dancehall, and reggaetón. Whatever flavor you're into, I wanna hear it. Send me some songs! 🙌
How we do
In this weekly series, folks can chime in and drop links to whatever it is they've been listening to recently + browse others suggestions. You can follow the suggested genre if you'd like, but don't feel confined to it; you're free to suggest whatever you wanna. 🙌
If you're interested in having other discussions about music, consider following the aptly named #music discussions organization.
Let's jam. Note: you can embed a link to your song using the following syntax {% embed https://... %}
. This should work for most common platforms!
Looking forward to listening to y'all's suggestions! 🎶

Ya gotta love Bob!
Also, love Sister Nancy's "Bam Bam". The delay (echoes) on her voice) and the way the bass drops... such a classic dancehall track.
woaa this topic must be intentional for this week, because I just know that there is a biographic movie about him and the trailer was dropped yesterday.
What?!?!? 🤯
Nahhhhh, I had no idea at all, haha. That's awesome!
The only one when I think of reggae, is there anyone as close as Bob Marley in term of iconic and legendary?
Haha right?! He's kinda got the monopoly on all the well-known reggae tunes out there.
Ohh man. Those are all great tunes. I feel Jamaican' me craaazy.
Haha! There was a seriously awesome Jamaican restaurant in my college town that was called that. They were always playing amazing reggae tunes!
Would a mix of genres do? :) One of my all time favourites!
Oh hell yeah!! A mix of genres is always welcome. And this is dope!
